Fort Ingles Wedding Photography & Videography

Are you looking for a Fort Ingles wedding photographer in Mijas, Costa Del Sol? Hello, I’m Gary Tapp and maybe you found this page because you are looking for your wedding photographer for your wedding at the Fort Ingles wedding venue. I am based and living in Marbella, Malaga, and I travel and cover weddings all along Andalucia and Costa del Sol in Spain.

The venue has no noise restrictions because there are no immediate neighbours, which means there is no party cutoff time. The property has 6 bedrooms, with the main master bedroom for the grand bridal suite with a minstrel gallery. You have a very large outside space overlooking the pool for your table plans, comfortably seating 100 wedding guests outdoors and up to 50 seats indoors.

Please take a look at my gallery portfolio below of examples of my photography taken during a Fort Ingles wedding event. You can also view more of my work from other wedding venues in my photography and videography portfolios.

The Fort Ingles wedding venue in Mijas is a beautiful, secluded villa set in its own valley in the Andalusian Hills, the perfect choice for relaxed destination weddings. With on-site accommodation, spacious preparation areas, terraces for outdoor ceremonies and dinners, and a poolside party space, it offers everything you need in one place. Here are some of the most common questions couples ask about weddings at Fort Ingles, including venue-focused FAQs and how my photography and videography can enhance your day there.

Fort Ingles Wedding Venue FAQs

1. Where do the bride and groom usually get ready at Fort Ingles, and can you capture both preparations?
Fort Ingles has generous bedrooms and a lovely master suite that’s ideal for bridal preparations, plus separate rooms or areas where the groom and groomsmen can get ready. I usually divide my time between them to photograph and film all the anticipation, details and natural moments from both sides of the morning.

2. Is there a dedicated area for the wedding ceremony, and is it suitable for photos and video?
Ceremonies at Fort Ingles are often held on the terraces or in the gardens, with the hills and valley as your backdrop. These spaces give me beautiful, open views with flattering natural light, so I can capture your entrance, vows, ring exchange, and first kiss from multiple angles, along with your guests’ reactions.

3. Can you suggest the best time of day for the ceremony at Fort Ingles for the best lighting?
Light changes quickly in the hills, so I usually recommend a late afternoon ceremony, especially in the summer, to avoid the harsh midday sun. This timing gives softer, more flattering light and means we can move smoothly into the golden hour for your couple’s portraits, making your photos and video feel warm and romantic.

4. What are the best locations at Fort Ingles for couples portraits?
The villa has terraces, arches, stone steps, gardens and poolside areas that work beautifully for portraits, as well as views over the surrounding valley. I’ll guide you through a short, relaxed portrait session, usually around sunset, choosing spots that suit your personalities while keeping you close to your guests.

5. How do you handle group photos at Fort Ingles without it taking too long?
We’ll agree a simple list of key group combinations in advance, then use one of the terraces or garden areas with good light and easy access. On the day, I’ll organise guests clearly but kindly, so we can move quickly through the list, keeping things stress-free and leaving you plenty of time to enjoy the drink reception.

6. What is the usual setup for the reception and dinner, and how do you capture it?
Many couples choose to have their wedding breakfast on the main terrace overlooking the pool, often under festoon lights or lanterns. Before guests sit down, I’ll photograph and film the table styling, flowers, signage and overall setup, then capture speeches, reactions, toasts and all the little interactions that bring the evening to life.

7. Can you stay to photograph and film the party at Fort Ingles, and are there any limits on music?
One of the advantages of Fort Ingles is its secluded location, which usually offers much more flexibility with music and late-night celebrations than many other venues. I can stay to cover your first dance, DJ or band, and the late-night dance floor, ensuring your gallery and film include all the energy and fun of the party.

8. Are there excellent options for drone footage and aerial photos at Fort Ingles?
Because the villa sits in its valley surrounded by hills, it’s very well suited to drone coverage, subject to local regulations and weather on the day. When it’s safe and permitted, I can use a drone to capture sweeping views of the estate, ceremony and reception set-up, which look incredible in both your highlight film and your album.

9. How many guests can Fort Ingles accommodate, and does that affect the style of coverage?
The villa sleeps a select number of guests on site, making it ideal for hosting close family and the bridal party, with space in the gardens and terraces for a larger guest list on the day. For more intimate weddings, I focus heavily on the close connections and quiet moments; for bigger celebrations, I balance the atmosphere of the crowd with plenty of personal, emotional storytelling around you both.

10. What guest facilities are available, and can you also capture the pre- and post-wedding events?
Fort Ingles offers a pool, terraces, gardens and social areas where guests can relax, as well as on-site accommodation. If you’re making a weekend of it, I can also photograph and film welcome drinks, a barbecue, pool time or a morning-after brunch, giving you a full visual story of your time at the villa with friends and family.

11. Is Fort Ingles suitable for destination weddings, and how do you help couples who are planning from abroad?
Yes, it’s very popular with couples travelling from the UK and elsewhere. I’m used to working with destination wedding timelines and can help you plan the photography and video schedule remotely, sharing sample galleries and films from similar weddings at villas and fincas in the area so you know what to expect.

12. Do you offer both wedding photography and videography packages for Fort Ingles weddings?
I do. Many couples choose a combined photo and video package so that one team covers everything from preparations to the party. This ensures a consistent style across your images and films, smooth coordination with your planner and other suppliers, and a complete visual story of your day at Fort Ingles.

13. How do you work with planners and other suppliers at the villa?
Fort Ingles weddings often involve planners, caterers, stylists and entertainment teams. I’ll always liaise with them before and on the day to understand the timeline, décor and special moments you’ve planned. This helps me anticipate key events, stay unobtrusive, and still be in the right place to capture everything in a natural, documentary way.

14. Can you help us plan the timeline at Fort Ingles so we get great photos and videos without feeling rushed?
Absolutely. Once you’ve confirmed your date and have a rough schedule from your planner or venue, I’ll suggest tweaks around the ceremony time, portraits, speeches, and sunset to make the most of the light and setting. My aim is always to fit photography and video seamlessly into your day so it feels relaxed rather than staged.

15. How far in advance should we book you for a Fort Ingles wedding?
Fort Ingles is a sought-after venue, and peak dates in spring and autumn tend to book quickly, especially for destination weddings. As soon as you secure your date with the villa, it’s wise to get in touch to reserve your photography and/or videography. That way we can lock in your coverage and start shaping a plan that suits your style and the unique layout of Fort Ingles.

16. Can you recommend nearby locations around Mijas for an extra portrait session or day-after shoot?
Yes. The hills around Mijas, the nearby white villages, and the coastal viewpoints all offer fantastic backdrops for an engagement, pre-wedding, or day-after shoot. These sessions give you more time and variety than the wedding day itself, and they’re a wonderful way to get comfortable in front of the camera before or after your celebrations at Fort Ingles.
